After an outstanding 6-0 victory at Witheridge last week, the University of Exeter are flying high with a 100% record in the North & East Division of the Scott Richards Solicitors Devon Football League.
On the weekend, Exmouth Town Reserves remain tucked in behind the students after a fine display in defeating Alphington 4-1, thanks to a Morgan Cullen brace and further goals from Tom Bray and man of the match Josh Gresham.
Budleigh Salterton also recorded a 4-1 triumph at home to Heavitree United, while Newtown were ruthless in their 5-1 victory at Chudleigh, with the goals coming from Alex Gray, Dale O’Donoghue, Kyle Bassett and a Cory O’Donoghue.
The final weekend game in N&E ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw between Liverton and Clyst Valley. Teenager Ollie Brailsford opened the scoring for Clyst but Livvy came fighting back to earn a point through Nick Edmunds.
In the South & West Division, Ottery St Mary remain top after goals from Charlie Cox, Liam Carey and Lorin Newcombe gave them a competent 3-0 win at Totnes & Dartington.
Okehampton Argyle sit in third, as they continued a fine start to the campaign with a 4-2 victory at Paignton Villa, with Luke Alden bagging a hat-trick. The Argyle from Plymouth got their first win of the season, beating Watcombe Wanderers 3-0.
Roselands ran riot with a 7-2 masterclass at Kingsteignton, while Plymstock cruised to a 5-0 win away to Waldon Athletic. The final two games in the S&W saw Lakeside beat Plympton 2-1 and Newton Abbot Spurs Reserves edged out Bere Alston 1-0.
